Upcycle...
This project was a part of elective module called Upcycling. The assignment revolved around creating a product using leftover materials like fabrics, paints, theads, buttons, cardboard etc. We also had to come up with a theme and a mood board to represent the process of upcycling.

ABOUT UPCYCLE
Upcycling is a way of reusing (discarded objects or material) in such a way as to create a product of higher quality or value than the original. It stops adding stuff to a world that is already overwhelmed with material things, also reuses materials in creative and innovative ways that may otherwise end up in the landfill.

WORK PROCESS

After multiple sketches of bag designs, I selected a shape of bag which best suited the painting design and its functionality. I outlined the design with chalk.

The last step was about bringing all these pieces together. With a great help of my grandmother's sewing machine, I stitched a bag.

Collection of all the materials like old canvas painting, unused fabric pieces and some colourful threads, scissors and needles.
